My take on the film - I heard all the negative reviews and decided against it thanks to critical panning, but I wonder what the critics were expecting? Another Christopher Reeve ripoff? the story made Cal El much more vulnerable than all the versions of Superman previously, and made him a bit closer to Nietzsche's Uber Mensche; something above mortal man, but still vulnerable and accessible to the rest of us. This Superman is quirky, flawed, harmed, and frankly a lot more believable; although Reeve's Superman possessed many of the same humanistic attributes. My only real criticism is that Christopher Nolan and the screenwriters set up an alternative universe in which Lois Lane (and perhaps others) are aware of his true identity long before he becomes a cub reporter at The Daily Planet. Purists will hate it, but perhaps they were setting us up for a new franchise that didn't materialize because of the box office failure of this great adaptation? I did love the moral dilemma at the end - won't spoil it for you.

Superman - Well he is back no spoiler here does what he does good to see him back. Wished he wore the black suit and had a darker character as the comics.
The villain is the weakest here who is a CGI mess and just does not create that villiany required for such a genre and just does not connect.
As for the movie what can we say about it when it changed directors in between, the final product cut by 59 mins and tries to be funny a la Marvel and removing all the character build ups, It just does not meet expectations. DC comics are dark and should stay so in the movies too, look at what Nolan did to the Batman series. We need something like that but the only positive is the team is together with scope for more additions and hope to see a better outing once some of their solo movies come out in the coming years.
Catch Thor Ragnarok instead and have a good time at the movies.
